Recently we decided to purchase a new washer and dryer. Our old set have never been my favorite but they started to pull at our clothes and we felt like it was ruining enough that it was time to part ways.
I researched and decided on a Speed Queen. Now, I know that they are more expensive than most on the market but I also think it's for very good reason.
I wanted basic, high quality, top loading, center agitator, and no bells and whistles. With these qualifications, my options were limited. These machines are what are in laundry mats, commercial building, and most emergency response locations. They have a great warranty.
Once we decided to make the purchase, I decided it would be the best time to paint my laundry room.
This is what it started out looking like. It wasn't terrible, but I certainly didn't love it. I spend a lot of time in this room not to love it!
I felt like a lot of it wasn't a functional space.
I decided on Sherwin Williams - Iron Ore for the paint color. It's so dark but with the large window, I felt like it would get plenty of natural light. I also decided to
wallpaper one wall. Thanks to Charlee, I have a picture of me wallpapering....
Ahhh...I love this space so much! I kept the wicker baskets on the top to help soften the space. I also picked up a couple more for the shelves to store my laundry soap and iron in.
I'm still looking for the perfect art to hang on the wallpaper wall. I'm not in a hurry, but not sure what I'm looking for. I do want to get some hooks since I use them to hang things to dry such a swimming suits...
This is my new favorite room!
After living in our home for six years, I feel like I'm finally finding what I love and ways to change a few things in small ways (paint) to make it unique. Our home is very open floor plan, so changes like this will be in smaller rooms.
