Back to School!

Well, Colson headed off to first grade and had the best first couple days of school! Today I'm sharing our back to school pictures!

Last Tuesday, we attended Colson's open house. He took his teacher a little gift! I got this printable from Cara Carroll's blog! She has so many fun things, especially if you are a teacher! I also stuck a set of Expo markers with it. I snagged a pack when there were on flash sale on Amazon!

We really like his teacher! She was so interactive with the kids as they were finding all things in her room. She sent them on a scavenger hunt!

The night before, we packed his lunch! Of course I included a back to school cookie and note from mom! I really can't believe I have a first grader!

For our back to school dinner, Colson requested spaghetti! 

Most of the decorations I found at the dollar store. I picked up the cookies from One Haute Cookie!

 

We ended the night reading some books about first grade, tucked him in, and prayed over him!

Breakfast request....pancakes and sausage!

I picked out his outfit and last minute decided he should pick it out. Although this is the last outfit I would have picked out, it is perfect!

And as we were getting ready to load up in the car to take him to school, I decided to give him the choice to ride the bus or I could take him...

for the bus! I may have shed a tear or two once the bus pulled away! He is so confident and independent. I couldn't be prouder of my first grader! I love seeing his excitement for school and I'm hopeful that he will always love learning. Before he got on the bus I reminded him to always try his best, never give up, and most importantly to be kind! Always be kind!

The bus dropped him off after a half day of school. We were all waiting for him at the bus stop!

I couldn't wait to hear all about his first day! He talked all the way to Roe Ann's for our ice cream!

While he was eating breakfast I asked him some questions. It's fun to see how his answers change each time I ask them:

What are you most excited about this school year? I get my own desk and school supplies. I also get to go on the entire playground!

What is your favorite thing to wear? Athletic clothes
