I can't believe I can actually say that.
I ran with a friend from work, Rachel.
We ordered some fun shirts to run in!
I can't believe all the emotions that I experienced.
The first 6 miles were great. After that...we experienced some complications.
I managed to get a blister on my foot and it was bleeding pretty heavily.
You would think that aid stations would have band aids or tape...nope.
So I finished the race with an uncomfortable blister.
I ran past the fallen firefighter memorial and it was just an extra push to keep going. :)
A reminder that I can be strong and finish the race.
I had 3 miles left and I decided to walk. I didn't think I had anything left.
Just as I started to walk a lady came up behind me, grabbed my hand, and said, "Let's finish together!"
Just what I needed to finish strong. She finished the race with me. Pushed me. Held my hand at times. And gave me the biggest hug when we crossed the finish line!
I have no idea what her name is. I know she lives in Colorado and was visiting but I'm sooooooo thankful for her.
I was happy, excited, exhausted, hurting, and proud.
My time is nothing impressive. But I'm damn proud of it!
I finished in 2 hours and 22 minutes and 50 seconds.
I'm sure I'll still be sore next week but I'm so proud of myself for finishing!
And now I can check this off my 30 before 30 list!
